WHAT YOU BRING

  • Certificate or Diploma in Facilities Management – Building Management/Building Maintenance preferred (or willing to obtain) plus 2 years’ recent, related experience, and WHMIS certification and First Aid ticket. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team with confidence to take initiative, assertiveness to ask questions and willingness to collaborate closely with colleagues.
  • Proven ability to manage interruptions, maintain multiple workload sources and be flexible and resilient.
  • Some experience in hazard assessments, reporting and management.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, interpersonal.
  • Some admin experience (Excel, Word, web based program data entry).
  • Class 5 drivers license, access to a vehicle

HERE’S WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER

The Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for operations at Head Office and other Agency satellite offices as it relates to facilities management including some health and safety components. The Coordinator provides hands on support and advice regarding a wide range of facilities management issues across the Agency, ensuring accurate and timely documentation and records management related to the maintenance and upkeep of the Agency’s facilities. This role also supports health and safety related activities, working closely with the Health and Safety Specialist, and other HR team members, to support leaders and employees in ensuring a safe and healthy workplace.

YOUR KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Facilities Management: Maintain the organizations’ best interests related to the maintenance of its facilities and provides operational and risk management support to facilities issues at the multiple locations of the agency.

Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities including collection and compilation of a variety of metrics/data for the organization.

Health and Safety: Provide assistance and support to Health & Safety Specialist with training and training records; assist and support staff regarding injury prevention and other health & safety improvements.

Engagement and Support: Create/undertake projects which will improve and support the Agency’s strategic initiatives and/or improve the effectiveness related to all aspects of facilities management and related H&S components

Work Hours: 35 hours/week

Salary: GS 8 Step 1, $1,621.20 bi-weekly

Location: Vancouver (Commercial and Broadway)
