WE CONTINUE TO SERVE:
FIND SUPPORT DURING COVID-19

At Family Services of Greater Vancouver the health and safety of our staff and clients is of utmost importance while we continue to provide essential support. We look forward to offering in-person counselling and programs again in the weeks and months to come as part of Phase 2 of the province’s Restart Plan. We will do so once safety plans and PPE supplies are in place. Your FSGV contact will be in touch to consider in-person options for your support once we are prepared.

We are committed to continuing to serve the most vulnerable in our community, and for now, we continue to work remotely – by phone and online – and have closed most of our physical locations.

DIRECTIONS YOUTH SERVICES

Our regular services for homeless and at-risk youth have shifted to best ensure the safety of our clients and staff. Our Drop-In Services Centre on Burrard Street continues to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are offering youth access to the drop-in space in limited numbers so that we can promote appropriate social distancing and sanitization. Youth can access bathrooms, showers and laundry.

Our shelter program remains open. Meals are being provided out of the front door in take out containers. Harm reduction supplies are available.

Understanding that food security is an ongoing and growing concern, we have arranged a food pantry so that clients can select canned and dried goods to take with them. Pantry hours are 9:30 am –11:00 am and 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm daily.

Youth with primary health care needs can check in with staff with our visiting doctor and nurse practitioner.

For more information please visit Directions Youth Services.
