Child & Youth Trauma Counselling

PEACE

Eligibility

Children and youth ages 3-18 who have experienced family violence. Must live in Vancouver.

Description

If you’re between 3 and 18, PEACE is here for you after there’s been violence between the adults at home. Maybe you’re angry, maybe you’re sad, or maybe it’s everything: that’s okay, the counsellors in this program are here for you. Our counsellors may not be able to undo what happened, but they are here to support your healing, with a big focus on reclaiming your sense of self and power. How? With play therapy, art therapy, and other counselling methods that are all led by you (your needs, your goals, and what you want). You get to choose how you show up each session, and we’re here for you on your terms as long as it’s safe. Because ultimately, that’s our goal: to make sure you have a safe, supportive place to be yourself and make sense of your experiences.

Sexual Abuse Intervention Program

Eligibility

Description

You are not alone—SAIP is here for children and youth (and their safe adults) ages 3-18 who have experienced sexual abuse. Our counsellors may not be able to undo what happened, but they are here to support your healing, with a big focus on reclaiming your sense of self and power. How? With play therapy, art therapy, and other counselling methods that are all led by you (your needs, your goals, and what you want). Your safety and choice matter in the work we do, which means you don’t have to talk about what happened in order to find your path forward. You didn’t have a choice in what happened, but here you do.
