FOSTER FAMILY SUPPORTS
When children cannot remain safely at home, Foster Family Support Services ensures that they are cared for in stable, nurturing environments.
what we do
We support foster parents and kinship caregivers with client-led counselling, guidance, and resources. By strengthening caregivers and the networks around them, this program helps children experience safety, belonging, and continuity—and supports caregivers in providing the attuned care every child deserves.
Our counsellors and resource workers offer:
- Parenting support
- Resources
- Guidance on things like applications, reimbursements, procedures, and other administrative work with MCFD
- A community kitchen for building community and life skills
- Psychoeducation about child development and day-to-day care needs for children
- Counselling
our impact
We believe that in supporting foster parents and kinship caregivers we are helping to ensure that they are better equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to care for the children and youth entrusted to them.
