Parent-Teen Mediation
Parent-Teen Mediation at FSGV helps families, of all shapes and sizes, navigate conflict with respect and care.
Working with all members of the family, skilled mediators support parents, caregivers, and teens to communicate more effectively, understand one another’s perspectives, and develop practical tools for resolving challenges. The focus is not on blame. Instead, the time together is about building resilience, trust, and healthier relationships—helping families move forward with stronger communication, connections, and confidence.
what we do
This is an early intervention program that works to prevent further escalation, crisis, or estrangement. The highly skilled mediators meet with family members one-on-one and as a group to guide them through a structured process. The goal? Specific goals are collaboratively set with each family, but our overarching aim is to help caregivers and teens to feel heard and communicate effectively.
We commonly work with families for concerns such as:
- Broken curfew
- School attendance
- Family and domestic violence
- Blended family dynamics
- Divorce and separation
- Grief and loss of family members
- Mental health struggles
- And much more
When working with us, there’s a focus on approaching one another with curiosity, a desire to understand, compassion, and respect.
Our impact
This kind of learning not only strengthens relationships at home, it also creates a ripple effect in the rest of their lives as they encounter interpersonal conflict in their community, at work, and in relationships of all kinds.
