Family Supports

You define family. We support it.

what we do

Family Supports at FSGV includes counselling, mediation, parenting groups, and more. These programs operate on a foundation of compassion and respect. Participants deepen their connections to their families, build new skills and knowledge, and redefine their relationships.

FSGV works in partnership with MCFD on multiple family counselling programs. In each, counsellors walk alongside parents and caregivers as they build the skills, knowledge, and confidence to support their children’s growth, development, and safety.

When children cannot remain safely at home, FSGV supports foster parents and kinship caregivers with counselling and resources. By strengthening caregivers and the networks around them, this program nurtures safety, belonging, and continuity for children.

PTM helps families navigate conflict with respect and care. A skilled mediator works with all members of the family to communicate more effectively, understand one another’s perspectives, and develop practical tools for resolving challenges.

A Community Consultant at FSGV supports parents and caregivers during the crucial early years of a child’s life. Through coaching and hands-on guidance, families learn about development, attachment, well-being, play-based learning, and healthy routines.

PRIYD supports children and youth with support needs to build confidence and independence through one-on-one and group support. We also run a parenting group through our family counselling program for caregivers to receive support.
