Caring Neighbours
Give the give of brighter tomorrows
Winter can be a particularly difficult time for people who are struggling—whether that’s a family who is worried about being able to make ends meet, a survivor trying to find help, or a youth without somewhere safe to sleep. Many children, youth, and families don’t have the tools and resources they need and are just doing what they can to survive.
At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’re doing what we can to help them thrive. For a lot of our clients, this means taking a wrap-around, big picture approach to providing support—every day of the year.
This holiday season, you can give the gift of brighter tomorrows – now with DOUBLE THE IMPACT!
Through December 31st an anonymous donor is matching all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $125,000. NOW is the perfect time to join in and support the work FSGV does with survivors, families, and homeless youth in our community.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 to fund critical FSGV programs in 2026. Your support today will go 2x as far – helping us support more unhoused youth, more families in need, and more survivors of violence.
Our Impact
Who Can You Help
YOUTH
FSGV supports homeless youth 24/7/365. You can help give young people a sense of security when they have nowhere else to turn.
Youth came through the doors of the Directions Drop-In Centre more than 23,000 times last year. Each night at Directions Youth Services, there’s a hot dinner, beds in our shelter program, and access to shower and laundry facilities. Each week, we have additional support services for housing, life skills, and job training, as well as 2SLGBTQIA+, arts, and cultural programming.

FAMILIES
Raising a family is hard work. You can ensure families in crisis have access to unbiased financial coaching so they get the tools they need to make ends meet.
Everyone needs a helping hand sometimes, and our breadth of programming supports families through family counselling, parenting groups, Financial Empowerment, and more. Last year, we helped more than 3,300 people gain financial skills so that they could feel more empowered with their money.

SURVIVORS
Gender-based violence is an epidemic. FSGV walks with survivors on their journey and you can help give survivors access to free long-term counselling.
At FSGV, we know every victim’s experience is unique. If a survivor is still in the thick of it, we’re able to walk alongside them with Victim Support Services. If a survivor is ready to face the wounds of the past, our experienced, compassionate counsellors are there to help them heal. For child, youth, or adult survivors, FSGV is there, every step of the way.
