Exploitation & Trafficking

Stopping the Violence

Eligibility

Adults of marginalized genders—including cisgender and transgender women, Two-Spirit, non-binary, agender, and gender-diverse people who have experienced childhood abuse, violence in relationships, and/or sexual assault. Specific eligibility requirements depend on where you live. Must live in the city where you are accessing services.

Description

If you’re a woman, nonbinary, Two-Spirit, or trans, and you’ve experienced violence (it doesn’t have to have been recent), STV might be the support you’re looking for. This program has individual and group counselling options, all based on helping you reconnect with yourself. We’ll also help you develop safety and support plans, learn the cycle and signs of abuse, and strengthen your self-care and self-advocacy skills. Ultimately, we want to support you in self-discovery, empowerment, and connection—so you can move toward your future, on your terms, with a sense of power and confidence.

Our Victim Support Services vary from location to location. What remains consistent is that we always let you define your situation, needs, and next steps. FSGV Support Workers can help you figure out what you need to feel safe, can advocate for you every step of the way, can navigate the justice system with you, and can help you get connected with other programs that support goals you choose.
