Homelessness Action Week
FSGV is opening doors for unhoused youth, 24/7/365
On any given night, more than 170 youth are experiencing homelessness in our community. This is more than a statistic from the latest Point-in-Time Homelessness Count in Greater Vancouver. These young people are our neighbours. Each of these youth deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion, to have their autonomy respected, and to have access to support that recognizes their unique needs.
At Directions Youth Services, young people can find that support—for both their immediate needs and for planning their next steps. In reality, that can mean a hot meal, a shower, and laundry, or help navigating housing, employment, and other resources.
Last year, youth came through the doors of the Directions Drop-In Centre in downtown Vancouver nearly 23,000 times.
