Jingle and Romel
Foster Parents
Foster Family Support Services helps foster parents, their family members, and extended family caregivers.
When substance use, mental health challenges, or violence impact a family’s ability to safely care for their child, FSGV works with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) to help find the right placement for them. While each child’s family situation is unique, temporary and long-term foster placements with another family member or caregivers create a safe place for them.

Being a foster parent is a career. It takes education, dedication, and a passion for ensuring young people feel like they have a place to call home during a tumultuous time in their lives.
At FSGV, our counsellors are there to help foster families provide the best outcome for every child in care – whether their temporary or long-term. By supporting families like Jingle and Romel, you are sending a message of hope to children in care, caregivers, and birth and foster parents.
ABOUT FOSTER FAMILY SUPPORT
We support foster families in Vancouver through a variety of supports, and facilitate community kitchens for foster parents in North Vancouver and Richmond.
Our staff are highly trained professionals with extensive experience working with the child welfare system. There is no cost to access Foster Family Support Services, as it is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
A referral from an MCFD social worker is required.
