Carolyn Rhodes has worked in Human Resources at Family Services of Greater Vancouver since 2019. As the Director of HR, she knows just how important people are to the work of the organization. The act of supporting, engaging, and motivating the staff at FSGV is not only Carolyn’s passion but her top priority.
Carolyn’s past HR experience in healthcare, hospitality, and education had provided her with a unique perspective on non-profit human capital management, talent acquisition, and safety and compliance. She is particularly experienced in the areas of employee relations, where she motivates and guides leaders and staff towards common goals; onboarding and coaching teams that have trust in the organization and promote healthy company culture; and mediating disputes and conflicts to ensure positive outcomes.
Dedicated to issues of justice, equity, reconciliation, and inclusion, Carolyn serves as a co-chair and is a representative for the FSGV Justice and Equity Committee. Outside of FSGV, Carolyn serves as a member of the Professional Advisory Committee at Rhodes Wellness College, where she builds connections in the counselling community and ensures the accessibility of educational resources for sector workers as market demands evolve.
