VISAC Child and Family Counselling (Vancouver)

Support for children and youth who have experienced sexual abuse/trauma or sexual exploitation

Short term crisis intervention and long term therapy for children and youth ages 3-18 living in Vancouver who have experienced sexual abuse/trauma or sexual exploitation. Services may include play and art therapy, individual, group and family counseling with educational information on sexual abuse, trauma and its effects, emotional support, and trauma counseling. Services are also available to siblings and non-offending parents/caregivers.

Trauma and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (TASA) (Richmond)

Services to women or youth who have experienced sexual abuse and/or other trauma

TASA offers a program for children and youth under 19 who have experienced sexual abuse, plus support for their non-offending family members; and a program for adult women who have experienced sexual abuse and/or childhood physical abuse.

Support to children and youth who have been sexually or physically abused, as well as their non-offending family members

The program provides assistance, support, and information to children and youth under the age of 18 who have been sexually/physically abused, where criminal charges against the offender are anticipated. Support may extend to non-offending family members. The program also works with child and youth witnesses of crime, and adult survivors of child sexual/physical abuse.

Victim Support Services (Richmond)

Support to victims of crime and trauma, including domestic violence, sexual assault, physical abuse, or elderly abuse

Safety planning as well as emotional and practical support to victims of crime and trauma, and helps reduce the risk of further victimization. Victims are walked through their rights under the Victims of Crime Act and provided with assistance and information about the criminal justice system process.
