Family Services of Greater Vancouver operates two programs for children and youth with support needs and their families.

what we do

Our PRIYD program supports children and youth with support needs to build confidence and independence through one-on-one and group support. Additionally, we occasionally offer a parenting group run by one of our family counselling programs. This group is focused on supporting parent education and building confidence for supporting their children and youth with support needs. 

PRIYD

PRIYD supports children and youth with support needs (CYSN) and neurodivergence to build confidence and life skills for independence.  

Through one-on-one and group support, Integration Support Workers meet with young people as they set goals that matter to them and then work together on building to and accomplishing them. From navigating public transit and nurturing peer relationships to building social, money, and emotional regulation skills, young people get to choose their own goals. This program centers choice and capacity-building, supporting youth in self-discovery while strengthening skills and their connection to community.  

Parenting Group

For parents and caregivers of children and youth with support needs, we run a parenting group. Here, people can learn more about their children’s developmental, emotional, and social needs and how to support their growth. Importantly, this group also offers community and connection to caregivers. Upcoming meetings can be seen on our calendar.
